I was learning to solve fraction problems.
I had to work out the fraction of each piece and then find the cost of each piece of cake.
I found it tricky to work out Saturday because I rushed.
Next time I shouldn't rush.
I learnt that you can't add different fractions unless you change them to the same fraction

Yes, quite right- you need to convert them to the same fraction to be able to add them. Putting in "invisible" lines would have also helped you to see that tow of Saturday's cake pieces combined one quarter and one eighth. You did this thoughtfully and did not stress when the going got tough. I was very impressed - another example of your resilience.
